Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, she moved to the United States 20 years ago, driven by love and the desire to build a new life with her husband of 20 years. Armed with degrees in social communication and journalism, as well as public relations management, Erika embarked on a career in corporate America. Her dedication and expertise propelled her to Senior Leadership status in marketing and communications, where she became known for her innovative strategies and unique ability to connect with diverse audiences effectively.
However, the journey was far from easy. As a minority woman in the South, Erika faced numerous challenges and biases. Despite these hurdles, she earned recognition as an award-winning leader known for her innovative strategies and relentless work ethic. But behind the accolades and achievements was a woman grappling with severe burnout, anxiety, and a longing for something more meaningful.
Erika’s turning point came with the unexpected loss of one of her closest friends, a heartbreaking event that served as a powerful wake-up call. This profound loss made Erika realize the fragility of life and the importance of pursuing her dreams. Determined to find her true self and rediscover joy in the little things, she made the bold decision to leave her 20-year corporate career and venture into entrepreneurship.
